wheelies again

  1. Evenin all,

Well after my first thread, I forgot what the hell I was on about, ain't
unusual for me, I have been reading on the site and other sites about
wheelies seems I've become obsessed with finding out how that fella on a
scooter did one and to re-live my BMX days, but have only found details of
how to do it on sports style bikes only, which we all know i've been
labelled a scooter boy tut tut we'll have to takecare of that soon makes me
    sound like dennis the menance.

    I read http://www.ukrm.net/clues/bikestuff/b12wheelie.html which I might try
tommorow depending if I grow a backbone and some balls (brass pref) over
night as I will be on some private open space tommorow, so the only people I
hurt is myself and the cows.

Since I get a constant source of speed it should be a lot easy keeping it up
(not a viagra advert) as oposed to the days of me titting about on a BMX and
keeping it in the air for 20 seconds, while my lazy legs gave way.

Anyways be nice if someone told me the basic principles to doing this on a
    scooter )

    Cheers

    scooter boy

    I'd try the following:

Get yourself going, but slow and crack open the throttle to find out
where what little power you have kicks in.

Then ride along with it just belong that point. Lean forward to
compress the forks, then throw your weight back, pull on the bars and
crack the throttle wide open at the same time. I'll bet with scooters
being as light as they are, that'll bring the front up.

Back brake is on the left hand lever on a scooter, isn't it? Keep it
covered and if the wheelie feels to high nail the rear brake, it'll
bring it down. Don't cover the front brake because if you land with
the front brake on, you'll make a real mess.

This is offered as a hypothetical suggestion only, if you trash your
    bike it's not my fault.

Turn up at the Turpin on a Tuesday evening and the little gaggle of
kiddies on scoots will be more than happy to show you how it is done.

  4. At the risk of being regarded as something of a spoilsport, I have to ask
    the very basic question...

    Why??????

Why use six question marks when one will always suffice?

  12. Nooooo, you'll have to run that past me again - I still don't get it.

Some punk kid can wheelie a scooter, so you want to as well. If he inhaled
large amounts of Butane, would you want to do that as well? If he stuck a
needle in himself, with a syringe full of some illegal substance, would you
want to do that as well? I mean, why??????

Oops, sorry, too many question marks - the ration is only one, apparently.
    ;-)

Worry leads to fear, fear leads to pain, pain leads to suffering. Powerful
is the way of the darkside.

And anyway it's *you* that wants to wheelie a scooter FFS :)
    LOL

TBF I've been drinking and sitting here listening to my new CD while
