If it got me off a custodial sentence, embarrassment would be the least
    of my concerns.

Beleive so, I remember a wheelied Blade, crashing into onlookers

I guess so, seeing as they've done it.

I've had a quick Google and can only find references to the Animal
Welfare Bill - nothing for inanimate objects.

"Section 143 PCC(S)A now governs the powers of the courts to deprive an
offender of property, used, or intended to be used to commit or facilitate
the commission of any offence (not necessarily the offence of which the
offender has been convicted); facilitation includes taking steps to dispose
of the property or avoid conviction. The court must have regard to the value
of the property and the likely financial and other effects of the making of
the order on the offender (section 143 (5)). The court should not make an
order unless there is adequate supporting evidence (R v Pemberton (1982) 4
Cr App R (S) 328) and so any application should be fully prepared."

  10. I was pondering this, especially when I was asking about doing a runner
from the rozzers in another thread. I personally prefer coloured
leathers from a visibility point of view. When my black lid expires,
I'm going to get a race-rep to replace it, again because I feel it's
more visible. Don't know if it makes any difference in practice.

  12. Oh. My 'at's got a cockerel on each side, flames, and a black and white
    chevron band around the back.

Still, I feel it's unlikely I'll be wheelying at 60mph.

That's a bit like saying prison would be harsh for stabbing your
passenger to death whilst only doing double the speed limit. The
conviction was for dangerous driving & perverting the course of
justice, not speeding. He was lucky.

He effectively got a 5 grand fine as well due to having his bike
    confiscated.

And with a suspended sentence all he has to do is piss in the street
    and he'll get jailed.
