What's wrong with it?

  1. I've just bought a replacement for my dead SV650s....

....another SV650s. In yellow, with bits (lowers, cowl, screens,
hugger, ART can) 2001 Y Reg with 8.5k.

Why was it so damned cheap? I got a (I thought) very measly £2.8k for
the write off of the previous SV (2000/W, 13.5k, other bits of
damage[1] asides from the write-off[2] stuff). The replacement has
cost me less[3], considering the bits[4]/miles/age.

    Chuffed? Ur.. yup![5]

    [3] about £1 less
[4] I'm not arsed about the cowl + hugger, but I was considering the
    others before the write-off.
[5] ish. I was thinking about a VFR800 but the insurance company
    wanted £1700!

    SV650s (again, whee!)

A post telling us how amazed you were with your new cheap SV.... which
doesn't actually tell us how much it was.

Yeah that's all very well for bright people but what about the stupid bikers
amongst us, we have to make an uneducated guess ;-)

Ah, but that's using standard arithmetic.
I'm sure I could get a different answer if I used Non-Euclidean geometry.
OK, OK, it's not arithmetic, but Non-Euclidean stuff is right confusing,
almost as much as Quantum theory.

Did you get the old one back for spares?

  11. No. Why would I want to? I can't tell the open end of a spanner from
the, er, other end of a spanner[1].

And to answer everyone else... "£1 less" "considering the
    bits[4]/miles/age" 2800 -1 +50ish(hugger) +150ish(can) + 96ish(miles)
    = £3095.

But, bad news to add to that. The DT's clutch has got very mangled
somehow, engine apart jobby, coupled with it's unreliability traits,
I've decided to cut my losses on it and sold it for £450.

Self, self, self. You should've got it back so *I* could get spares off
    you. Thanks a bunch, matey.
