Rode down to the GP from Sydney, and I noticed lots, and I mean lots, of
wankers towing their road registered bikes on trailers. They pull into a
motel, then unload them. Am I missing something or what? I saw three
    trailers in San Remo alone.
Seemed to be a lot of Ducatis among this lot. Dont get me wrong, I like
Dukes, but there seem to be a few pea-hearts who own them.

Defeats the purpose doesnt it? Thats 75% of the fun. Jesus, Im an old
bastard and if I can do it, you young puppies should have no prob. :) (Well
    not that old)
That bloody wind on the way from Bombala to Cooma was a pain in the arse.
Goin in a straight line with the bike at 45 degrees.

ZZR1100 never did like the wind, well mine didnt, yep it is a fact of life
that there are some riders who are just show ponies but to put it in a
trailer is quiet disturbing bunch of Pansys if you ask me. Maybe they came
    from Melbourne LOL

Pisshead, Leon and I saw a CBR1100XX and a CBR600F4 being uted down from NSW.
What's the point of owning a Sports-Tourer if you need to carry it around in a ute?

Probably didnt help having a fully expanded RJays bag on the back and a
large tankbag. The bike looked like it had a 20 storey building on it from
    behind :)
Maybe I could have turned the engine off and sailed home. Tacking would have
    been interesting though.

  7. Frog, you know those moments when you catch yourself before you blurt
something out and think, "Whew. Lucky I didn't come out and actually say
that, or I would've sounded like a dickhead."?

That could've been one such moment... it wasn't...
Should've tried the cold and the fog on the Hume on Sunday night...

....young Dane an I planned to retrace my solo steps from the sbk trip in
March, and just ride home after the race. We made it as far as the big BP
servo just south of Wangaratta, the first stint of what was supposed to have
been a four-stage journey to Canberra. We didn't realise how cold we were
until we pulled our helmets off and started laughing at each other like the
    delirious idiots we were.

That was some dumb shit to attempt...

I still have remnant delirium and muscle memory of that cold.

I won't mention names but these questions and more can probably be answered by
the ausmotian who transported his Mille up to Phillip Island on the back of a
ute from Hobart for the superbikes earlier this year, took the bike off the
back and drove the ute to the track on raceday. :)

The bike was ballast so the ute didn't move around on the ferry.........

I wont make a judgment about how 'cool' someone is because of the method the
choose to transport themselves from one place to an other.
I do, however make judgments about people based on how *they* judge people.
If you think your cooler or tougher or more hard core or whatever the ****
you think you are because you ride all the way to the Island in stead of
getting there some other way, I think you sound like the dickhead.

  13. That's OK. I'm perfectly happy for it to remain my job...
Anything to tempt you off the fence...
Where have I said, or implied, that? Wanna drive down 'cause time is short,
or 'cause your license is hanging by a thread, or you just don't feel like
pounding your arse into steak tartar, be my guest. Gonna fly down, and rent
a car or bike to get around for the weekend? If you've got the money to
spend, go for your life. But if you're going to carry your bike 900km on the
back of a ute just so you can make a grand two-wheeled entrance into Cowes
on Friday and Saturday night, you're a poseur the likes of which Chapel St
wishes it could attract, and deserve every bit of stick you get for it, plus
    some.

I don't have a high opinion of myself, just an extremely low one of other
    people.

That depends on which way you go, doesnt it? Round trip of 2500 ks isnt a
    bad ride.

Shit. Ive been riding for 32 years and if I'd have towed my bike down on the
back of a ute, I wouldnt be allowed in the pub. Maybe I am old but that used
to be solely the domain of wankers. Why the hell would you buy a bike?
Get the bright and shiny Duke off the ute, put your unloaded gearsack on,
then ride into Cowes saying "Look at me"
    Dickheaditis!
