Take plenty of Imodium and only drink bottled water, check the seal...
Be wary of jaunting off on your own... Go for the money, not the
    culture...

  3. I speak from experience (and upon the advice of local doctors on two
occasions) when I say Immodium should most certainly *not* be taken in
response to a bout of the sort of prolonged diarrhea it is so easy to
suffer in Pakistan, irrespective of how careful one has been with
drinking water (even washing your toothbrush with bottled water), food,
    etc..

Be careful, and if the unmentionable occurs, call out a local doctor
(many of whom have been trained over here IME) who will provide you
with medication that will prove far more effective.

Still on toilet-related isses; on one flight home on the national
carrier - PIA - I went to use the toilet and was greeted by a sight
which I liken to the clay moulding created by Richard Dreyfuss'
character in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"; towering above the
    height of the toilet seat.

  5. It is what I now refer to as "my close encounter of the turd kind". :)

Oh, and PIA = "Pakistan International Airlines" and not "Piss In the
Aisles", whatever impression my previous posting might lead to.

LOL, we used to camp, wild and site, not far from there near Rhiw, right on
the hillside leading straight down to the sea. ;)

  8. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Paul Varnsverry amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
    *Nice*

I bet it smelt a treat, eh? ;o)
