What's going wrong with the world (or why am I middle aged)

So... got my annual pension statement from work. Lovely. A nice
serious subject and something I can be smug about with a generous final
salary pension scheme.

But... wait a minute. I'm used to columns of figures and hard to read
projections that cause me to think and agonise. What have the stupid
cunts gone and done?

They've got stupid fucking cartoon characters all over the place, some
stupid, stupid, graphical designing **** has decided that to make it
more 'user friendly' each page needs multiple happy little cartoons of a
prospector complete with hat, lumberjack shirt and denim jeans; oh and
piles of 'treasure', pickaxes, shovels etc. etc. etc..

I hope who ever decided this was a good idea gets bad teeth and lots of
pain with it. Then again, their condition is their punishment.

 

Heh, I'm with you mate. My Grumpy Old Man software was recently
installed very successfully and I'm using it all the time.

I was recently complaining to Orange the as a business user their
website is of no interest to me as I don't care how Jade is and I've no
desire to rate other Orange customers as Hot or otherwise.

 

I complained to Orange that it would be nice, as a business user, to have
a fucking signal in Hampstead.

Vodafone do so that's where I went. Anyway, why do you need to look at a
phone company's website on a regular basis?

 

I don't, they asked me what I thought of it.

Me too. But I fear at some point the fuckers will try to push me to a
money purchase. They've closed the scheme to new entrants so maybe it
will help. Who knows, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Problem is... all of the Directors are in a different scheme (there's a
surprise.)

Hey, it's the price some of us pay for putting up with exteme
provocation day-in, day-out.

I went to collect a parcel at the Post Office recently, with only my
French driving licence as ID. The bint behind the desk said she'd
accept my driving licence 'this time', but that I'd better bring
something better next time. Neither the national ID card nor the
passport is obligatory in France, so she was effectively ordering me to
get a document that not even the state forced me to obtain.
