  4. An excellent vegetable.
    Should not be overboiled but if done al dente it is
    tender yet firm enough to be carved.
    When I were a lad oop north we 'ad a sprout for
    Christmas dinner between twelve of us.
    Carved so fine that there were leftovers for boxing day.

    Y'know, I used to hate sprouts, but that had a lot to do with the fate of
    most all vegetables in the school canteen, i.e. they got boiled to death.
    In recent years, my rehabilitation is coming along in leaps and bounds to
    the extent that I /really/ enjoy properly cooked greens (al dente).

    Mmm... Curly Kale...
