Don't forget the Sei is much simpler, technically - SOHC and 2 valves
per cylinder, compared to the CBX's DOHC and 4 valves

Stu waffled on in a quite bewildering manner to produce...
Geezer who runs the local bike tyre place in Liverpool, Phil "Chunky" Gard
of PR Tyres, has got a totally immaculate, 9000 mile CBX 1000. Won't sell it
    though. B*stard!

IIRC the Sei was a Honda CB550/4 motor with an extra cylinder pot-riveted
    onto each end.

The 250/4 was a *lovely* looking bike mind. I used to lust after the one in
a Liverpool bike shop back in the late 70's

I said 12 valves up there ^^^ see!
I could remember that after 25 years so WTF can't I find the keys I put down
    yesterday.

I am also remembering a Scottish bike show in the late 80's where Honda
displayed a piston, valves and conrod from a Halewood era 250cc 6cyl. That
    was very amazing stuff.

In around '75 or '76, Bike did an R90S v Guzzi 750-S3 giant test. I
    *needed* both bikes.

I have an April '76 copy of Motorcycle Mechanics with 2,000 miles in four
days on the BMW R90/s, Moto Guzzi S3 and Kawa z900

Is that the one you mean?

No, it was Bike, and I think it was Bill Haylock and Mike Nicks did the
    test.

  8. I've got that issue in my archive.

I've got them all, to be honest. Almost. Missing one or two from 1972/3.
Got the Chopper Supplement, though, and jolly fine it is, too.

Oh well, I thought it was a bit of a coincidence to have a mid 70's M/C
Mechanics in front of me [1] featuring both the bikes mentioned.

[1] It's got a big 4-speed MZ TS review, yummy.

I was going to say DT125LC, but thinking about it, I have to agree
with Ginge on this one ;o)

ZXR400. So I bought one, rode it for a year and considered getting a
Bandit 12. And then the ZXR was nicked, so I used the insurance money
    to get a Bandit 12.

    Sometimes life just works, y'know.

Trackday/club race bike, I believe. Lovely, it was - in a sort of
    'orrible way.

That rare issue where they stuck a freebie extension sheath on the
    front cover, you mean?

The only thing I can remember from the Chopper Special is the cover art
and the Mud Shark. And, possibly, a Cossack advert...
