    [Confused face]
So by ALL accounts she is blame free? (As far as the collision is
    concerned).
$300 for driving unreg sounds a little bit heavy then.

  2. The magistrate said she was not at fault for the car being unregistered or
unroadworthy because it was not hers and she had only borrowed it to do an
    errand,
said nothing about the death of the boy, because of her excuses.
You know as I do, that modern bikes sound as though they are doing heaps of
k's, when in fact, most of the times, they are only in a lower gear.
This kid was not a novice rider, although he was young, he had been riding
    for years off road
My beef is that for too long, car drivers have been using the excuse that "I
didn't see him" or "He was going so fast" when they are not paying enough
attention to the road and other users, then to see a young boy die because
of the crash, then the car driver gets a piddly little fine.
If you rode your bike unregistered on the road, what do you think the result
    would be?

She didn't look behind her when turning right at an intersection...

What do you call it when you over take a car that is turning right, on
the right hand side of the car?

So he was in one of the highest risk rider groups then.

Two weeks and I'll be into Pete's plonk. Missus says she's dropping me and
running away for a girls night out. (My missus' version of a girls night out
is 4 beers before food, then pass out at 8pm)

  12. road, were you standing there watching?

What do you call it when a car turns without indicating or looking to see if
    anything is coming.?
When a car is travelling slower than you, what do you do ?
Of course you would stay back and wait till they made up their mind wouldn't
    you?
If you do, then you are about the only one who would.

  13. Wrong, it is normally around $850 - $900 for driving an unregistered
vehicle, a friend did through oversight and she copped that much
but, she didn't cause a smash.

On approach to the intersection where the accident happened, there would
    have been.

Overtaking at an intersection is an offence for a reason.

  17. Funny, you know, that's what I do. If I see a car that has slowed, I
figure, even if they don't have their indicator on "Hmm, they might be
going to turn here." So I hold off and wait to see what they're going to
do. And you know what? I'm still alive, so it can't be that stupid a
    strategy.

You know James, lots of the time I do exactly that too. I also tend to
slow down when cars are coming up to side streets and I haven't got lots
    of room to dodge.

Sure I might have 'right of way', but lots of car drivers are in thier
own world and I'd rather be alive than 'right'.

It varies from state to state, and case to case.
