What tyre for zx9r?

Currently running 207rr's, like them. The rear is a 190 and I'm thinking
that a 180 would improve things.
I don't use it in the wet, so a nice sticky tyre would be nice. I had 010's
before and liked those, but preffered
    the 207's profile.
I'd like something with a decent wear rate, as I'm a tight bastard.

  2. I think Andy put 207RRs on the 9R that I now have. I also think its a
    180. I'm sure he'll be along on Thursday or Friday to add some value
about feel and mileage but in the mean time I'm going to take the
girlie option and say it doesn't feel significantly different to the
010 I have on the trumpet. He didn't get as many miles out of a tyre
as I so but that could be that I ride like a girl.

The C1/C2 should have a 180 as standard - I don't know if they upped it
    for
    the E1 and later though.
I like 010s but now have Dragon Evos. They were cheapish due to
Pirelli having just brought out the Diablo, IIRC.

They don't seem much different to the 010s to be honest, but then
I'm not sure I'm someone who would be able to feel much difference
    anyway.
Unfortunately I haven't done enough miles recently to know about
    the wear rate.

I've just read the post prior to hitting send and I think you might as

well file it under "Not very helpful")

In that case, fit a 180. Mr Kawasaki knows best.

The only large bike I've had with incorrect tyre profiles was
my Z1100R[1] and that handled like a dog until I put the correct
sizes on it. I've stuck to the recommended sizes on every bike
    since.

[1] It had the incorrect profile on the rear when I bought it and it
was also rather thin on tread. I can only describe the handling as
"fucking awful" until I fitted new tyres.

They did. My E2 had Michelin Pilot Sports on it on delivery and I didn't
rate them at all. I've stuck to Bridgestones ever since and had no
problems with them, I did a track day on a rear that had done 2000 miles
    and finished it off completely.

    He certainly does.

The E models and onwards have a wider rear wheel, purely so they can be
*safely* fitted with a 190 section tyre, as so many posers started
fitting a 190 to the earlier models which weren't really designed to
    cope with it.

    Fit a 180.

I have OEM std D207's on the 12R. I doubt that the 12R would stand
010's. Way too soft for someting as lardy, and I think that 020's are
too sports tourer oriented for a bike that can corner such as this one.

I'll stay with the Dunlops, as they're plenty sticky enough for me.

    Cheers

    Paul.

I had 207RRs on mine. I got **** all miles from them, but I did like
them. They were far better than the 010s they replaced, largely because
the 010s were worn to buggery. About 2000 miles, istr from the rear and
not much more from the front.

I replaced them with 207Rs, as I needed tyres in a hurry and that was
all they had. Didn't like them as much, not as grippy, but last longer,
    as expected.

180 section using 010's. I reckon they are still a great tyre for the road
    but not for the track.

  12. I fitted BT56's to my first one followed by 207RR's which really suit the
C1. I've got some Pirelli Diablos on at the moment. They seam great. I'll
try the 207RR again next change though.

PS: Bloody lazy git still hasn't posted the clip on to you...

Fit a 180 207RR. I tried a variety of different tyres on mine and
found them to be best overall. The front gets a bit twitchy but
nothing dramatic and the steering is faster with the 180 than with a
    190.

TVM, Just looked at the front and its nearly new so I could get away with a
    207rr 180 rear.

010 on the rear, 011F on the front. Works.
Umm, apart from the middle bit of the tread and the pattern on it, the
rest of the tyre is identical to the 010.
I didn't like the D207s at all, especially in the wet.

207s are fucking shite, except the RR version, which is quite good on
    certain bikes.

    Hmm, what's the 014 like ? also never heard of a 011 ?
Hmm, you sure the compound isn't softer on the 010 ?
Well, no, but I tend to corner pretty much upright in the wet ;-)

    Cheers,

Anything made by Bridgestone will kick a 207's arse. You could stick a
120 section H rated BT45 on the back of a ZX12 and it'd be better than
    the correct sized 207.
