    ER5 or GS500... Go figure...

    Thanks for that.

Try A Spada. Cheap to buy and cheap to run.
I don't know if it's common among Spadas but mine
always seemed to get 22km/l. You should get a very good
    Spada for $4K.

And it's loads of fun to ride.

    Cheers.

Except that they always crash :)

Has anyone ever known an Across that didn't crash?

  12. That was my comment. I was not aware the ER5 is not legal for P
platers in VIC. I know the Govt are considering something similar to
LAMS and I erroneously thought it had been approved.
My apologies. Must be the ageing process.

    Kind regards

I bought my son a CB250 (2001 model) in December and rode it 85km home
for him from Dromana to Brunswick (he didn't have his L's at the time).

I've been riding since 1977 and this CB250 was so different to the CB250
I had way back then. I was really impressed by how easily it sat on
110km/h and, with the motor humming along at about 6000rpm, it was only
running at just over 500rpm more than my CX500 for the same speed.

I weigh about 70kg and am about 1.65m tall so I don't know how it would
feel for a heavier and/or taller person.

  16. Get a bandit 250. A bit more grunt that a CB250. I did my riding test on a
CB250. It struggled to do 100 on the freeway and I only weigh 63kg. I've had
my bandit up to 165km/h and that wasn't even redlining.

These can be had for between $2000 and $4000. If you do buy one, get the 96
onwards model. These have the GJ77a motor. The earlier GJ74a motors have a
    reputation for having carby troubles.
