    It's a restricted 125 [1] ffs, not a fireblade. Gap khakis, a hoody and
    a pair of marigolds will do the job.

    [1] Or if you're not old enough to ride a 125, as in my case, something
    like a shitty little Honda MT5. 50cc and twin-shock raw power.

    If I'm blatting about town I usually ride in Converse baseball boots; no
    problems on the toe hurty front and it doesn't matter if I'm on the
    Turbo, Guzzi or MZ.

    When I was doing my "Star Rider" training I wore mostly army surplus
    stuff. Actually it was RAF and wasn't exactly surplus but you get the
    idea.

    When I first started riding my ZXR4, after a couple of years off bikes,
    I did find my big toe occasionally got a bit sore from upshifts. Until
    late last year, my only protective gear was a cordura jacket, lid and
    gloves.

    Skechers trainers - not as good as Converse for gear changes.
