Had a tarmac surfing experience on the m25 last week. Jeep in front
slammed on his brakes, just got the bike to his right but left shin
caught his rear bumper (thank **** for daytona's shin protection - no
broken bones), bike flipped over onto its right side and started
    skidding, roughly 20 mph.

Anyway fazer needs new right hand mirror + right side engine casing
cover thing (bad graze leaking some oil) + some glue for the faring
piece that got broken off, also need to bend the silencer hanger into
shape so can refit the exhaust. For some reason the clocks seem to be
positioned a little more to the right than usual, havent checked why
    though.

Friend reckons i should get it rideable, and take it to a dealers to see
if the frame is bent (main dealer is local). Any ideas how much this
would cost? Also if it is bent (looks fine to my uneducated eye) is it
possible to get it straightenened and how much for that? (presume a bent
frame is an instance MOT failure).

I had a GS650 done about 10 years ago for around £50, so probably £100
ish now. This was a steel frame, which can be bent back straight. If it is
an ally frame, and it is bent, then I think it is stuffed - you cant bend
aluminium much without it breaking,or severely reducing its strength.
It will only fail the MOT if they check wheel alignment, which IME, few
do.(it sounds if anything, that your frame will be OK, though it may be
wise to get it checked out).

I'd be surprised if the frame is bent as the bike didn't really hit
anything immovable. It sounds like it just toppled over and slid down
the road. The other damage appears to be standard slide down the road
    stuff.

The clocks are probably out of line because the their mounting brackets
have become pushed over by the movement of the top fairing.

Personally, I probably wouldn't even have it checked.

I didn't in similar circumstances when I outbraked myself, riding a steel
framed bike, on the loose chippings approaching a roundabout. Managed to
bend a fork leg by jamming the bike under a German girls car. Very nice
    about it she was too.

  5. What to do? Learn the lesson, don't ride so f*cking close, and if you
must then make sure you've got a way out. It's called the self-
    preservation society!

Bike's are bosh, PC's are pointless, and the 1990's are nuts!
Bikes are great, PCs are super, and the 1990s are the time to be!
Save the apostrophe! Get 'em right! If in doubt, leave 'em out!!

    I've got a fazer mirror [1]. I'm not sure if they're handed, but i'll
    check if it's a RHS.

It's a 98 old model fazer, i think the post 2000 ones have long spindly
things. Just looked at the broken one, it certainly looks right handed
so doubt a lefty will do.
Dont happen to have a right hand engine casing (the front bit) do you?

Yep, this is pre 2000. I will dig it out of the bits box in the garage
    tonight.
Nope, but I have a brand new unused black ART can that will fit it.

It has a collector pipe for a thundercat though. Same rear box, but
will need a new connector pipe thingy.

    Start your bidding ;-)

    Cheers,

    Paul.

    Ok cheers.
Sorry dont want a can at the moment.

If that mirror is a right handed one then i'll take it off you, doesnt
have to be perfect, just not broken.
My email is remove the letters in caps.
