What price a complete Craven luggage set?

  1. I dunno, but I do know I sold a single Craven topbox for £110 the summer
    before last.

At Kempton Park today, I saw a complete three-piece Craven set (panniers
and topbox) in incredible condition, complete with al the mounts,
frames, brackets and even with all the little rubber grommets in place.
    Black, too, the best colour.

I reckoned the stallholder knew his onions, because there wasn't a price
on it, so I asked how much he wanted for it. It turned out that (IMHO)
he didn't know what it was worth, because I got it for £110.

Seat of the pants says £250-300, though it could go for much, much more.
It'll be on eBay tomorrow night, so we'll see.

It wasn't the bargain of the day, though - that was the stallholder who
sold a complete serviceable-looking Honda CT70 (the rare US-market trail
    version of the Dax)....

....for £35. The bloke who was pushing it away looked dazed.

  5. Insert into the item description, at the bottom, this:

In the case of that auction, the five pic urls look like this:

10 decent 1024x768 pics of the K should look quite good and give buyers
    confidence to bid big!

  9. Works for me. I size my pix to 14"[1] across, in landscape format. And
    use plenty of them.

It entices bidders, and (crucially) it prevents people from saying: "Oh,
well, I didn't see that in the pictures..."

[1] Real Money. I don't count in pixels or millimetres.

  10. Really? Oh well. Ta. I set the res for 72dpi and the image size in
inches. Still seems to come out OK.

Thus spake The Older Gentleman () unto the assembled multitudes:
Very useful and informative website about this kind of stuff at

(NB it's not just about scanning, but "most of it is a basic primer on
    digital images in general")

  12. Always trust the seat of the pants. It went for £261.

What was utterly amazing was this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/260666577185 I paid £3 for it at the last Kempton
    Park jumble....
