A pal wants a waterproof oversuit that will go on over his work boots - and
that he can take off without removing his boots.

No shops to visit here in Mid-Wales so your advice is sought. Any particular
    brands to go for?

Spidi (or Spada, depending on how they're labelled); they're marvellous.

Have a look at the Triumph Chevron oversuit.

Nicer riding roads than round your neck of the woods.

    You're just jealous aren't you.

Nice. Fab biking roads on all points of the compass.

God's own biking roads - both with & without tarmac. I spent many a
happy summer camping & trailriding in the hills above Erwood before all
    the land was sold off.

    LOL!

I knew there'd be some reason why you'd rather drive around in London.

And a half-way decent mtb race once a year.

I wouldn't have thought the river Wye was wide enough to allow one mtb to
    overtake another at Builth Wells.
