I have never ovned a motorcycle before, but have about $3,000.00 to
spend on one. What kind would anybody suggest. I have been looking at
Ninjas. Tell me what I should look for, and and suggestions you have.
    Thanks!

I am not going to race it. I just want to get a good first motorcycle
for about $3,000.00. You think a ninja would be the best bet for the money?

everyone talks about the 250 or 500 ninja as the best starter bike around
cus its easy to learn on, lightweight, but still goes fast and is a still
    "sport bike"

    peace

250 or 500 Ninja huh? I really want some good power, would 250 be
enough, or should i go to a 500. What would be the price difference you
    think between the 2?

I really dont know, if your plan on going on the highway the 500 might help
    a bit,

i dunno I havent driven them

also ask your insurance company which one is cheaper to insure

Yea right. That is a LITTLE out of the price range, and maybe a COUPLE
steps off of a 1st bike. hahaha.

Well, since you posted this on a motorcycles *racing* newsgroup, this is
the kind of replies I'd expect. But trying to be nice with you here, I'd
suggest that you look into the Suzuki SV 650 -- it's not just a good
starter bike, but something that you could keep also when your skill level
    increases. (of course, myself would hate to own a japanese bike;
