What kind of hardening technology ??

    Hello
    I've got only one but very serious question. What kind technology is
    used to make gearbox sprockets harder? I'm asking for whole
    technological proces which is used in making such strong gears. Is it
    nitrified or carbonized or annealed ??

    Well it sure beats the mass of misinformation and guessing you'll find on
    any newsgroup.
    When you want reliable information you search for manufactures and see what
    they do.
    I learned all about the various hardening procedures in 5 min.
