the bike's pretty beat up, when i turned it over water spurted out of
a hole in the engine. finally got it running, although it runs rough.
    i havent ridden it yet.

what's a bike like this worth? how could i get it legalized with no
    title? any info
about the bike would help. thanks a lot.

    Ninja....
probably worth a few hundred bones based on it's appearance...
getting title will vary on state, etc.

1st thing would be to have the VIN run thru for stolen vehicle status...

If you're going to cross-post, then READ the answers posted in the other
groups. It's likely an '88 Kawasaki Ninja 600R.

If it's stolen then the rightful owner or, more likley, their insurance
company has legal ownership of the bike whether it be for salvage or other.

With an obviously modified VIN, there ain't a hope in hell you're going to
get that bike titled. Contact your local PD and find out the status first,
otherwise you likely don't want to be in possession of stolen property.

If you get to keep the bike, part it out on eBay. You might make enough to
    buy a similar vintage bike.

Oh, and as far as water pouring out of the engine, that'd be because there's
a hole someplace. Pretty basic, don'tcha think? Radiator, two hoses, one
in one out? Like a car? If it's liquid cooled there must be a water pump
too. Water pump bearings have been known to fail.

why was water spurting out of the engine? anyone know about what year
blown head gasket, or rain water came in thru the carbs or pipes (submerged?)

Where did the water come from out of the engine? spark plug holes? exhaust? head
    gasket?

if it's stolen; you're in posession of stolen property and you're "in on the
crime" -- but ifyou call the police and ask them if the vin is stolen, then
    you're being helpful.

I don't think Dave was rude -- you haven't given anyone a lot of info to go
on... like where the water is coming out..

a little common sense goes a long way...

And when you check the VIN try ....077706 as the 9 and 8 in 097708 have been
    carved by hand.

You can be sure, at least the engine, is stolen.
