    What DOES happen?
How do doctors inform the DVLA? How do you get caught? How cast iron is
that sort of advice, and what the hell is hypoglycemia anyway?

Someone had a wonderful ride home and a shite doctors appointment.

Hypoglycemia means you have to keep a packet of Werthers handy,
    just like Uncle Nigel.

You shouldn't want to drive if you are having hypoglycemic events. Really.

Heh. I have to have sugar-free Werthers these days.

Hypoglycaemia is low blood-sugar, cat. Don't drive. Really. If it's bad
enough you can black out, and it can affect your judgement and motor
    skills long before then.

It's treatable, right? So I should be OKd to drive again at some point
    (soon?)
Tis an arse, I was loving riding again even in the cold with my new
heated bits and bobs, and now I've had to stick the keys at the back of a
    drawer to avoid the temptation.

Seriously though, I've been told to keep glucose to hand, and if I
collapse sod off to A&E in case I need to be put on a drip (!?)

They didn't suggest a good source of glucose though, and my head was
swimming too much from the "don't drive" bit to ask. Are boiled sweets
    the way forward?

  7. Look just accept the fact that for you it is all over, you are fucked
and you are going to have to deal with it. Remind me again, what bike
    is it you ride?

They're ok but not as fast as a 500, although they do stick to the road
if you give them a good lick.

Poor little bugger, fancy going through life called "Jago"

Perhaps his old man used to own or lust after a crap kit-car before
    becoming a sugar-spazz.

That might prove a little difficult.
They're excellent, but one cause of your low BG could be "reactive
hypoglycaemia" which can be exacerbated by eating sugary foods. The higher
the sugar content and the quicker it gets into your system, the easier it is
to go hypo, so a little slower activating carbohydrate is usually better
than "Hypostop"/Glucose tabs (from the chemist) or boiled sweets.

Picnic bars are a good example of a hypo stop + hypo avoid as the nuts take
a long time to break down while the rest of the Picnic is pretty quick.

Btw, the doctor is NOT allowed to inform ANYONE about your problem, least of
all the DVLA. That's purely down to you.
