We had a patient who'd OD'd, been admitted overnight, then insisted on
discharging himself the next morning. He asked the doctor "am I OK to
drive" and on being told he was went straight out and broke into a car
    in the hospital car park.

  4. Well yes, he was hardly likely to have written about it in anything but
one or the other of many past tenses was he but it has the feel of a
recent reminisce rather than an older one. Immediately recent in fact.
So recent that I was thinking it might have happened yesterday. I could
be wrong of course, such things are not unknown.

  7. And I thank you for that. As a wise man once wrote, "Someone has to
speak up for the old folks."
