What gas mileage do you get on your Gold Wing and Suzuki Savage?

    I have a 1989 Gold Wing GL-1500 with 82,000 miles on it, and a 1995 Suzuki
Savage 650 with around 7500 miles.

I get around 37 MPG with the Wing and 43 MPG with the Savage. The Wing is
mostly highway miles, often two-up, with regular gas, and the Savage is
mostly city / suburban miles, usually by myself, usually with mid-grade or
premium gas (it runs noticeably less smoothly on regular even though it's
    approved for 87 octane).

Seems a little low, especially the Savage... I would have thought mid 50's
    wouldn't be unreasonable.

Those of you who have Wings or Savages, what do you get for mileage?

    .....

I have a 2000 with a MAC exhaust, the PO may have adjusted the carb. I use
regular gas only, even Arco regular. City riding I get about 45 mpg, but I
    am rather agressive on acceleration/braking.

On a recent ride thru the desert I did the 115 freeway miles from Gardena
to Palm Springs on less than 1.9 gallons -- 60+ MPG at mostly 70-75 mph.
The next leg was 140 miles, 48 miles on I-10 at 75 mph, 58 miles through
Johsua Tree N.P. at 30-40 mph, 34 miles looping back to Palm Springs on the
29palms hwy at 40-55 mph -- went on reserve just before Desert Hot Springs,
63+ mpg. The 115 mile run back home was mostly 75mph against heavy
headwinds which knocked me down to a lousy 52.5 mpg.
