  4. There's a place in Shepherds Bush that does takeaways for £2.

I live on 'em. There's a huge variety of stuff and the amount you get
    depends what you buy.

I had 2 vegetable stir fry things today for lunch and I have two beef
curries winking at me from the fridge.

  6. well typing in "recipes for one person" in google came up with some
    options.

    This is one http://www.yumyum.com/student/

www.uktvfood.co.uk links to stuff from the Good Food programmes on
satellite telly. Just adjust the recipe quantities.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/ has a recipe section as well.

Plenty of books at any half decent bookshop or on Amazon.

Delia Smith - One is Fun.
Gary Rhodes and Nigel Slater both do books on how to cook a decent meal
    in 30 mins.

Any half decent book on Aisan or Indian cookery will provide loads of
ideas on good and quick meals.

Half the trick is ensuring you have some decent utensils and a
reasonably well stocked store cupboard with the basics in it.

I'm lazy when it comes to cooking but I am trying to do far more cooking
    and less microwaving.

I'm currently cooking up a dish involving:

Muscles, tiger prawns, squid, crabsticks, onion, peppers, plum tomatoes,
    garlic and rice.

Might be a complete disaster, though.

Chris Griffiths emerged from their own little world to say
Today: diced turkey thigh, diced green pepper, chopped onion. Fry until
they gain some colour. Add tin toms, paprika, herbs. Simmer until turkey is
tender and the liquid has reduced.

    Took 30 mins

Served with potatoes, tomorrow rice and there'll probably be a portion left
    for the freezer

Cooking for one is easier if you don't mind eating the same thing on
consecutive days and/or have a freezer. Cooking a single portion of the
above would not be practical as you would need to use part of a pepper,
    part tin of toms etc.

  18. Did you put anything else with it or was it a Stagg type thing from a
    tin?

I've got a George Foreman griller but I've never used it for that and am
looking for new and exciting ways to do boring food :)

It was from a tin because I couldn't be arsed to cook. Grated a bit of
    cheese in there too.
I've never felt the need to grill george foreman.
