A bloody summons, that's what. I thought they'd forgotten too. Last July I
got 'safety' camera'd and disputed it on grounds that I was 'taking evasive
action' to prevent certain SMIDSY. Safety camera partnership said "we don't
do mitigating circumstances so you'll have to take it to court". So I said
ok then. Bad move I guess, but I was looking at 6 points and £120.
Courts date coincides with overseas business trip too, so I'll be on phone
    Mon I guess.
    Arse.

Get some specialist advice before you do anything more.

I presume you've admitted the offense from the above. I *thought* they
    had a fixed time to raise the summons from the offense being committed;
    something like 6 months?

    I've used this lot:

www.motorlawyers.co.uk I was happy with their service.

Oh, and my postman brought a mini choke cable.

I did admit to the speeding but stated why I was speeding. Avoiding certain
death etc.. I too thought that it was 6months from date of offence.
I think I may need professional advice.

Get some advice, but be warned that the court can impose bigger penalties
than the ticket. If your licence is clean they tend to be sympathetic,
if you already have a load of points they can assume "cupid stunt" and
    throw the book.

This is what can happen if you contest a speeding ticket in Dorset...

"Robert HOUTMAN – Speeding.Wessex way speed signs
convicted of speeding. His challenges to the road signs
resulted in him having to pay £1,200 costs on top of the £60
    fine and 3 penalty points"

I've never had any intention of contesting the speeding, I'd just like to
explain why. I was actually 'snapped' by the mobile camera from the rear as
I went past it after having to really zap past a blind old fucker in a
Rover200 trying to turn acroos me while looking the other way. He was
stationary until I was this >><< close to the side road where he was sitting
then I saw his wheels start to move and he was *still* looking the othere
way. Thank God the old FJ really hustles along when requested to.
    We'll see what happens.

The one above that in the PDF shows a real balanced approach to
    justice in Dorset.....

Drink Driving. Teenage drink driver who was
almost twice the drink/drive limit when he lost control of his
Peugeot 206 on the Bournemouth Spur Road. The car
careered off the road and overturned. Two vehicles stopped
at the scene to help but seconds later Read's car was hit by a
71/2 ton truck. One of the occupants from one of the vehicles
which had stopped was killed outright when she was hit by
one of the vehicles. The other who was also hit, suffered
horrific injuries and was paralysed from the neck down.
When asked afterwards if he wanted to say sorry for his part
in the tragedy a jaunty Read replied 'I'm fine, cheers anyway'

    - Fined £300 and Disqualified for 16 Months.

S'wot I would say too - there has been a lot round here recently
(Dorset) about wrongly posted roads - a local traffic solicitor should
know this so get an expert onto it.

You've got me worried, now; I have been floating on a pink fluffy

    got stopped for speeding.

Came as a bit of an unwelcome surprise it did. I too had been relaxing a bit
    more the last month.
Hope you get away with yours though. Dorset do seem to have a bit of a
    'reputation'.
