The money he saved on fuel getting a lift back to the hotel after the
first Suzuki weakness became apparent might have paid for the
replacements after the second Suzuki failing had us all laughing but
the fact that his bike got so pissed off with him it just threw him
off in disgust will certainly cost a few more quid.

That was just plain weird. Loz? We're thinking of starting a little
    black book, too...
Something more than a little disconcerting about hearing a gixxer thou
skittle toward one at close range when one is perched atop someone
    else's £12,000 motorcycle.

It was the noise of the throttle going WFO instantly followed by that
horrible and unmistakable "SKKKKRRRSSSHHHHHH!!", as 170-odd kg of litre-
bike plus rider surfed gravel in my direction.

I whipped my head round to see a blue and white Suzuki in it's "resting
position", accompanied by a flailing Daz coming directly toward me and
I'd managed to pull up in such a position that I'd have likely clobbered
Ace had it not stopped about 6ft short.
    =8-o

We bought the t-shirt this morning because the voices told us told us
    to.
    :)

Didn't prevent riding just hindered. Besides, we didn't have time or
facilities to do it in situ but it was one of the ideas.

The bigger problem was the hole in the left-side engine cover. That
    gaffer tape conceals cunningly-crafted repairs...

Home under my own steam, just.

Ta muchly to those that helped enormously, waited patiently and took
    the piss relentlessly.

    It's not worth 12k.

    According to BMW, it's £10,710 OTR (assuming it's a 1200RT)

Hmm, well it got him there and back. Unlike a certain Suzuki, which kept
frying fuses that disabled the whole bike.
