    How about -

    -Didn't like it
    -Couldn't ride it
    -Financial
    -Bought an '08
    -Bought a Harley
    -It's that damn Silver color.

I could go on and on, half way rhetorically.

Looking at the link I didn't see where he paid 22K.

They can be had new for under 20K.

One of the things that make the world go 'round

==You dont see many GoldWing owners do this, usually it is those folks
that ''just have to have'' a dern Harley. Our local sale papers
rarely have a GW listed, but there's always 8 or 10 of them Harley
motorsikels in the sale papers..................I only know of one, of
all the GW owners that I know, all three of them. that did it....with
one big difference he rode his 10,000+
    miles...................<g> MrJayT=

No, I didn't know the original purchase price was, I
    just estimated it.

But, I would think that someone near ready to shell
out ~20K for a motorcycle, would have a feel for
    whether the purchase was practical.

Maybe even do something like rent one for a week,
before buying. Ride it around, get used to it, and then
determine if the buy should be completed.

Yeah, that's a great idea. I'm glad I thought of that!

Maybe this person saw on the news all the motorcycles being crushed by
concrete trucks and then other motorcyclists just falling off their
motorcycle and being lost for 1/2 a mile for a day before someone
finds them...and finds their dead body raided by a bunch of hobos...

Related to the lost Suzuki crotch rocket pilot, when
the initial news stories began to surface on the event,
it was broadcast on the radio that the rider had been
    thrown 300 yards.

300 yards.... WTF. I thought you'd have to be going
300 mph probably just to get thrown 100 feet. This
    must be a mistake.

Later reports began to explain the accident is more
    detail, however....

Different accounts abound, but it seems that the 300
yard description is the distance between the rider's
fall, and where the bike finally came to rest.

Witness(es) say/said the bike was traveling at a high
rate of speed(100+), and began negotiation of a right
sweeper ramp turn. The bike contacts the outside wall
(left side), and off goes the rider. The bike continues
down the road(might have had a cruise control acces-
sory?), until found having crossed the lane and ended
    against the right wall.

It's been my experience that many times when motor-
cycles collide with stationary objects(especially road
support objects like walls, curbs, etc.), at > 2:00 in
the morning, there's usually an alcohol component
    involved. Who knows?

    That's a very likely explanation.

I've had many former Valk riders comment to me that
they are sorry they'd moved from the Valk.

Personally, I just think they developed habit(s) with the
Valk that were hard to leave behind upon moving to
    another make or model.

Finding another Valk shouldn't be a difficult task. There
are sure a lot of them for sale, with what seems like a
majority hanging in that mileage zone where maintenance
    items are beginning to surface.

I just don't see any reason to fear a GW. A Pit Bull,
Horse, Ultralight, Parachute, Skateboard maybe, but
    not a GoldWing.

Somebody sees the Viagra add on TV that show "Joe Cool' running up on his
bike so they figure "I'll get one too". Then they wake up from their
fantasy and decide riding is really not for them.

....or they just got stupid one night.
