Why not get something cheap now and hang about for the 2007 ones?

I would expect there to be at least a new GSX-R and R1...

Alright it's not brand new but by jingo it's a sports bike:

While you've got money buy something worth having.

One of these may be a bit cheaper and very robust:

Looks nice in green - the frame should be black:

IME 70s Italian sports bikes go more or less as fast as the modern stuff
when out and about on normal roads. Admittedly it needs a little more
    work to achieve those speeds.

What you loose on higher parts costs and more frequent maintenance you
gain on no depreciation and having a pretty fucking cool bike.

Now that's interesting. When the dealer came to collect my GSXR we
had a conversation about what I was planning on buying. I said I'd
probably go for another GSXR K1/2/3 as the newer ones were a bit small
and he suggested an R1 of 02/03/04 vintage.

Yebbut that is blue the light innit and not blue the colour. It is blue
the colour what causes the problem by having to expend more energy to
accelerate the light and that energy has to come from somewhere and it
comes straight off your total available horses.

My Bloo GS500 is blue and it too is fucking slow. Mind you I have got
it countered a bit with some rather fetching reddish coloured fasteners
so it is prolly faster than yours.

Probably based on that bloke riding round the world 20 days on one. They
still look fucking uncomfortable to me though.

Do I spot MCN being used as a reliable source of info here?

I've bought one, and will happen to have a couple of quid left over[1]
    on the mortgage.

[1] Weeelll, technically it's for a new kitchen and bathroom...

That's what I thought as I scrolled down.

I expect Suzuki have given them a large bung to give it a glowing write
    up.

I heard that through the grapevine but I forget who told me.
