There are days that I love this country[1] and yesterday was definitely one of them.

Skiing in the morning, riding me motorbike in the afternoon...bliss!

    Cheers,

  5. I was reading something the other day, apparently all the economic migrants
from the rough end of Eastern Yoorp hop on Easyjet and go back home when
they're under the weather: their hospitals are quicker, cleaner, better
    etc...

    But did you believe it?

Any politico who says we need immigrants before they have *done their
fucking job properly* and retrained and/or employed the existing 2.5Million
unemployed needs to be smeared in honey and thrown into the Anteater cage.

  7. How many of the 2.5 million are employable even with retraining? Retraining
won't necessarily turn them into doctors, nurses, wealth-creating
entrepreneurs whose earnings will boost the tax take enough to pay for our
pensions etc. Also, how many of that 2.5 million are just transiting
through a period of unemployment and will have a new job in a month or two?
Or are lat middle aged and ain't gonna be employed again no matter how much
you retrain them? In a lot of cases, intervention will be a waste of time
    and money.

Also, if you've got full employment, wages will rise, prices will rise,
    inflation will rise...

More to the point, what's the anteater going to do with honey? Eat the
ants that *might* be attracted by the honey?

  11. Right. The jobs are out there. They should get on their bikes and look for
    work.

No the useless govmint wankers should be giving them decent training as
required, providing social housing in the right areas and subsidising the
move. Damn sight cheaper than the current carry on too I expect.

  14. It reminds me of an ad I saw on one of those "funny ads from around the
world" programmes: girl (wearing little apart from the knickers she was
advertising) lying in a heap of ants. She had her pet anteater beside her
on a short leash. The ants crawled in their thousands up her thighs and all
over her, err, knickers. Then, with the words "Sic 'em, Rex!", she releases
    the anteater... (slurp)

What is thus 2.5 million you are talking about, unemployed and in
    receipt of Job Seekers allowance?

  18. Dunno. The dole doesn't amount to much. If you shifted them to where the
work was, the locals would be out with the flaming torches and pitchforks
bitching about jobseekers from other parts of the country "comin' 'ere an'
    stealin' our toilet cleaners' jobs".
