I'm amazed that his bike stayed up on the centre stand with no wheels
attached.
Something odd here, I don't see how you could remove the second wheel
without the bike tipping over, but the poster says it was when he was
refitting the wheels!.

I never had alloy wheels on a shaft drive bike. Not even my Cali II.

Cali II's came with alloy wheels but I convinced the dealer to put spoked
wheels on as part of the deal. My trade-in 850T3 had spoked wheels and I
wanted to be able to countersteer. Guzzi still fit spoked wheels to their
'tourers' due to them being ridden by old farts who demand countersteering
ability. BMW do the same for obviously the same reasons (Old Farts).
