What a disastrous weekend, so far.

They have a strange textured finish so no they do not polish out. Mine is
still a standard can but according to Scorpion bikes with an EXUP valve are
very tolerant of mufflers unless you go really silly.
http://www.arracing.co.uk/ can do a carbon sleeve which would slide over the
    standard can

Ta for that, I'll bear it in mind.
There's a thought, and ISTR porl's has a carbon crash protector
fitted to the very part of the end can that's damaged. That's prolly a
better bet all round, although I did think it, together with the crash
mushroom thingies, all looked a bit naff.

    Grrrrr.

I've got black mushrooms fitted to mine and I hardly notice them.

Don't want to find out if they work.

It's true that there wasn't a great deal of contingency built in
(enough, though - because I did get my flight) but the risk analysis
    wasn't far wrong, I don't think: there's a *tiny* chance of two
vehicles out of three getting flat tyres /and/ one vehicle out of
    three crashing.

Dunno. I'd have looked if I known I was the architectural consultant
    to UKRM.

I can ask if you want.

    Isn't a VoR meant to be multi-skilled?
Please. Great building, though the town is unrecognisable from the
    late 70s incarnation I knew.

    Yeah yeah, bring it on...

mine dew, they'd be a lot better in plain black. I'm actually
wondering about just getting the whole of the bodywork (most panels of
which are now scratched) painted deep gloss black. It's what I would
always have wanted, but I guess it may affect the resale value...
Same to you, with knob on.

I painted my old Datsun Cherry in black tractor enamel once. It looked shit.
Then I drove it into a dispatch rider and wrote it off so I guess they're
    useful for something after all.
    lol what resale value?

ARD Racing can do a complete colour pre preg road or race replica fairing
for £235. What's to think about.

What, for the fairing itself, or just the painting?
Lots, actually. The lhs panels, screen and seat unit were all damaged
(slightly scratched) by a blind twat in a car park last year (I wasn't
present), and are due to be replaced under his insewerants. That
leaves the nose piece, which we may also be able to claim from that
spill, as the front subframe was bent too and the rhs fairing lower.

So, with a bit of luck I can get a pristine set of original bodywork
for the price of a single panel.

So, I'm thinking maybe I'll get that lot, put it in the loft until I
sell the bike and respray the originals black, with no markings
whatsoever. The tank's already got a black cover so this could make it
    the ultimate stealth bike.

Having checked the exhaust can again
    http://compaqnet.ifrance.com/AceNet/IMG_0152a.jpg
    http://compaqnet.ifrance.com/AceNet/IMG_0153a.jpg it's prolly not
worth doing owt with it. A black protector, such as porl has will
cover it as well as preventing further damage.

The fairing damage can be seen at
    http://compaqnet.ifrance.com/AceNet/IMG_0150a.jpg and
    http://compaqnet.ifrance.com/AceNet/IMG_0155a.jpg if you're
    interested.

    That sounds pretty dead handy.
    Way to go.
Good man. I like the cut of your jib, sir.

This is exactly what was intended for Elly's CBR. I'm pleased I
didn't now she's selling it - but that is definitely the way to go for
    any right-thinking people.

No that is the whole shebang. Doesn't need painting, the gel coat is
    coloured.
