...... a new starter-clutch makes. The bike is, what appears to be,
    starter-stealth-clutch mode.

The VTR had been making some horrible grinding sounds when I hit the starter
button from when I bought it, but thought, ah well, if it still starts, all
should be well. I've had the bike now for about 4 years and the sounds
became more and more, let's say, noticeable.

So, off to the bikeshop I went. A friend of mine was able to get the bits
for a very reasonable price. We, of course, tried it ourselves first, but
the nut holding the stuff together (don't know what it's called: pully?)
just didn't want to come off; not even with over 200 kilo's of flesh
pressing on the rearwheel, which itselve was stopped by using a plank of
wood. Twenty minutes in the bikeshop (kitted out with strong airtools) and
the job was done. Turned out that the big inner needle bearing had
completely seized, so I was very surprised it started at all.

Next job is the little clutch piston: it leaks and for 22 euro's plus about
30 in labor, I'm not going to **** about.

Bike is getting a bit costly now, but I will and shall get it to 100 000
    kilometres.
