I watched it up until about #60 then went to bed. Some shite in there,
right enough. And Bat out of Hell was only #82 or summat, where it
should surely have been top ten at least.
The Bends, presumably? Good album, sure, but I agree it's far from the
    best ever.

Id' certainly put it in the top 20.
No! The Bends was in there, but lower down. Number 1 was "OK
    Computer".

    Nope, OK Computer.
A very good album, but I agree, shouldn't be in top spot.

Quite. I don't know why I bother with these things as I never
agree with the top ones chosen by "you, the public".
Nope. The Bends made it into the top 20 or so I think.
    No.1 was OK Computer :eek:/

And although I didn't see the whole program, where was
'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway'[1], eh? I bet it didn't make
it into the list at all.

G'wan, g'wan, you know you want to.
Interesting, actually, as I note that out of the top thirty or so
there's anly about half a dozen that I haven't got (or had, but may be
on an unplayable tape) in one medium or another. Below that it starts
to pull away, IYSWIM (I mean, Frank Sinatra, FFS).

  7. I'm tempted with fitting one of those to ease the clutch hand tendon
    woes..

I guess you're not really serious, but they only really work on
upchanges, and you can change up without the clutch on the road pretty
easily anyway. The real advantage is you can do a clutchless upchange
*really* fast (the electronics just cut the spark for the period of
movement of the gear lever) and, at least as importantly, you don't
have to shut the throttle, and therefore don't disturb the gas flow on
    full chat.

As witnessed on the bikes equipped with quickshifters at Snett, it
also gives a pleasing *BANG* as the unburnt fuel sucked into the
exhaust during the few milliseconds that the ignition is cut is
ignited by the next wasted spark

WTF were the White Stripes doing in there? And Moby FFS? And where was
Frank Zappa? Randy California? Thin Lizzy? Ian Dury? Carlos Santana?
Steely Dan? Ricky Lee Jones? The Stranglers? Iggy? Bebop Deluxe? Tull?
Yes? Geoff Wayne's War of the Worlds? <gnaws carpet>

I like 'em both, as it happens. Parachutes is a superb album, and
might be in my personal top 100. Dexy's probably wouln't, though.

I've got a laser/spirit-level thing which mounts on a small tripod if
that's any use? The spirit-level/laser is about 6" by 1.5", and the
    tripod's about 5" tall.

  18. Ah OK. I was looking at one that basically said that it could do away
with the clutch on up and down changes (I rarely use the clutch on up
changes anyway). The main problem was that it was ~£700.
Which is nice. My old fireblade used to do really nice backfires if I
    fiddled with the killswitch.

I might see if I can find some way of making the clutch lever lighter
    to pull instead.

Sell it & get an earlier Tiger with a hydraulic clutch...

OK you might not want to do that, but one thing that's helped some
people is to loosen both ends of the cable & give it a wiggle.
Sometimes they come twisted from the factory, making it harder for the
    inner cable to slide through.

If that doesn't help, you can get a little gearbox thingy to fit
between the lever & cable that gears it down a bit. A lot of off-road
shops sell them - think they're called an eazi-pull or something.
