    British Supersport 600s last year?

The fact that they chose to abandon the series by increasing engine
capacity speaks volumes about how import *they* consider race pedigree
    to be.

Unless it's a very short trip, where a large capacity two stroke is
    ideal.

I bet a Hinckley Triumph wins every single round of the this year's
    Thruxton Cup.

Very short trips require a Ducatti, so I hear, which is a 4 stroke.

I assume you are using the phrase "happy with how the bikes perform as
supplied" with full knowledge of the capabilites of a 125cc 4 stroke
wrapped in a cruiser style frame.

I assume these are no better than a yamaha sr125 or suzuki gn /gz125 or
equivalent, the first bike I owned was a sr185, basically it was
gutless and didnt last very long before expiring.

So while I am trying really hard to appreciate the bike I admit I have
a mental block due to past trauma dealership with what I see as the
same bike but 22 years on.

non refillable disposable cigarette lighters would be the comparison I
    would make.

Maybe they have a great dealer and warranty policy with the parts to
back them up but I doubt it.

Without manufacturer participation what else would we demand to see
    more of on the telly.

More Nascar or motorcycle racing, take your pick.

I know which I would choose and it doesnt involve any cars going around
in a circle for hours on end.

If all the bike makers decided to pull out of racing where the ****
    would we be ?

At the least they could throw together something like the hyosung 650
or 250 production class ala the thruxton series and sell off a
stackload of bikes cheap to participants and create something of an
    interest.

Plus I think they are expensive in the US, MSRP on the 250 alphasports
    is USD $3995.

If they must foist their tat on the populace they could at least price
    it appropriately.

Ah but you see I am but a cheap import to the left pond myself, I have
two instances of citizenship which both apparently require loyalty to
the current queen and of course the new one or should I just say
    Camilla.

People will buy what they perceive to be best for -them-.

I have yet to apply for my noodle vending license so could you mark me
down as 'somewhat undecided' on the Hyosung 125 15hp cruiser.

I used to like my Aprilia RS125 - derestricted it was 33bhp which
coincides nicely with the licence limit, and handled like a dream.

Champ emerged from their own little world to say
Homogenised, just like the other areas within a 1 hour commute of
    Bristol, Brum, Cardiff etc.

The loss of the insular character of the Deanfolk is both good and bad.
The bigotry has been diluted by commuting: either by the influx of new
residents or the outflow of existing residents in search of
work/education as the traditional industries diminish. The flipside is
that the sense of community concomitant with many people working in the
    same industry has been eroded.
