In aus.motorcycles on Wed, 9 Jan 2008 04:19:58 +1000 Doesn't have to have done. I was whacked in the side of the head by an avian missile once, and the shock and sideways smash of my head led to steering inputs that put me into the next (luckily empty) lane. If the strike had been on the right rather than the left, and I'd been travelling in the kerbside lane I might easily have come a cropper. Zebee
Quite obviously you will have to ask the author of the newspaper article that, not the person who posted the link to the newspaper article. Nev.. '04 CBR1100XX
OTOH, The WA MRA used to have a visor with a parrot's beak imbedded in it as part of the exhibits in their safety stand. Theo
I got hit in the ankle by a magpie once. No drama, but it hurt for a couple of days and it was a hell of a bruise. Theo
Bastard! I had that particular bird nearly blocked from my mind. And yes, that really hurt. If those things could fly...... Theo
In aus.motorcycles on Wed, 9 Jan 2008 10:31:46 +0900 you blocked it, the rest of us remember it. You hit just one emu.... Zebee
Google doesn't remember everything for nothing you know. I'm sure you'll work it out. Nev.. '07 XB12X
I got hit by a bird going down to PI in 2004. Everytime I missed a turn, she'd belt the side of the helmet and say "THAT way, you fool!"
I was hit in the chest by a magpie once while doing about 90-100km/h. I had to pull over for a few minutes to gather my breath and recover a bit beforecontinuing home. My right nipple was VERY sore for days after, thought it would never return to normal for a while. Still dunno how I didn't break any ribs. Regards Steve
