It looks like West Wales is getting ready to welcome Team-UKRM in its
    traditional manner.

Wets give surprisingly good levels of grip and that always amazes me.
Take care though. I suppose it would be silly to ask the team not to
    crash?

    Dry is excellent.
    Wet is fucking excellent.
    Damp is seriously fucking depressing.

So you stick with slicks in damp weather? Or is it a toss up?

If money's no object and you've got enough sets of rims, a set of
racing intermediates is the best choice. For the rest of us poorer
mortals it's use the same tyres as you would in the dry.

IMO riding on a damp track is all about confidence.[1] The trick is
finding just how much grip there is without actually falling off. To
make this even more difficult a damp tracks also tends to give varying
amounts of grip throughout the lap. Mix this with a racing situation
and you've got a lot to think about and need a lot of self control to
stop yourself opening the throttle just that bit too much.

When I first got the race bike I asked about the best damp tyre on
loads of forums and never really got an answer. It ranged from using
wets to not going out on track at all!

I think big bollocks and a damp track will almost always see you
running at the front. I guess I'll be getting the damp track on
Sunday so if anyone wants to lend me a pair of big bollocks I'd
    appreciate it!

[1] Same as everything else about riding a motorbike I guess.

So the difficulty with damp weaher is just an assumption that there may be
more grip than there is? It's presumably still better than wet weather- or
    not?
