There used to be a guy on the Goldhawk Rd more or less opposite
Straight 8 - don't know if he's there anymore but was very
    sensible/reasonable/competent.

Yeah, I can do it easily enough if Cat doesn't mind a ride up here.

Don't think he's there any more, I never saw any sign of him being
there three years ago when I was regularly in that area.

I used to go there with my scooter [1] for the MOT, never had a problem.
Now I go chez Bob Thomas, N3, closer to home [2]. I went 2 days ago to the
Suzuki dealer in FInchley Central (I forgot the name), they quoted 698GBP
for a new tank on the GS500, I said "no thanks" and they'll never see me
again... I like Bob Thomas because they seem to listen when you speak.

[1] I'm Italian and in Italy scooters are as common as proper motorcycles,
there is no sexual connotation in owning a scooter. In fact, a maxi scooter
may even be seen (by someone) as a macho thing, a tmax or something like
    that.

[2] Now I have a GS500 and in spite of Lozzo's opinions ;-), again no sexual
connotation in this. I just need the cheapest thing available to travel
from NW11 to WC1 every day. And a GS500 is cheaper than a scooter nowadays.

Dont worry, the poor lad was probably scared by a GS500 when he was
    a baby.

Having said that, I'd be happy to do the oil/filtr change if you
brought the bike up to Bedford. I also have an MOT man who does them
as and when required, with no silly 3 week waiting times like some
    places round here have.
