Would have loved to, but...

I haven't been near Popham for ten years or more.

 

Ah, I wondered. There was a fly-in, bike in, vintage car rally and general
aero jumble there today. Good fun, lots of good tat to buy, and a stall
selling hot pork rolls. Slurp.

I remember going to a mid week game at the stoop a few years ago, they had a
hog roast thingy going on.

I asked for a pork role with apple sauce, the young serving girl asked me
"Would you like stuffing with that sir ?", my response was obviously "No,
just wrap it in a serviette and pass it over here like everyone elses".

Straight over her head that one went, she must have been new.....

I don't get it.

 

The joke, such as it is, is in the contrast between the impression one gets of
the narrator in the first part of the joke, and the revelation at the end.
He appears to be part of polite society but then uses 'serviette' rather than
'napkin', thus revealing that he is a cad.
