"Users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer are being urged by experts to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed." Crikey, what terrible publicity.
err, and they've patched it already. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/16/microsoft_ie_emergency_patch_warning_dec_16_2008/ what more do you want?
'darsy' wrote...> The article says they "will" issue a patch, not they have. Well its 10:10pm and none of my machines have had any patches installed today, so I'd like the patch. In the next 1h 10 minutes.

Microsoft to be a bit more honest ? (Naive of me, I know) They seem to have known about this for a while [1] but only disclosed it on 10/12. Somebody without the time or inclination to go digging could assume that they only just found out about the problem and issued a fix within 7 days rather than kept quiet for some weeks presumably working on a fix and hoping nobody would notice the flaw.
