It's not an 8k bike anymore, it's a 5k bike. And I'm sure mine and
Ogden's will cost that in 20 years time as well.

    Closer to 15 isn't it?

Still in the case of Dynamic (and probably many lurkers) I'm sure it's

In my case I think it's actually 13, but I exaggerated for comic
    effect.

    At least 16 here ...

And... we don't have to spend 20 years farting about on shit bikes ;-)

Hmm... lets get this straight, you think Champ might be closer to 47
    than 42, yes?

They weren't shit bikes at the time though.

And, to be fair the police didn't used to be anywhere near as interested
as they are now, the roads were emptier and insurance was cheaper.

*sigh* the 80s and the 90s were *probably* the best decades for bikes in
terms of what bikes are capable of and the ability to use them. And you
    missed them... Hah!

If you can be quick on the shit we had in the 70s and 80s, then you'll
    be mega-quick on new bikes.

    I'm grateful :)

It was a little cruel, but at our age one needs to takes the
opportunities that are open to us.

Oh, I know. I just enjoy using the expression "at our age" whenever
taling about the two of us.

On the other hand, by the time I'm 40, I'll have 20 years experience
riding superbikes. I reckon it'll even out.

And the bikes of 2020 will make today's bikes look like lumpen
dinosaurs. Well that is if we're still allowed bikes in 2020...

Quite a scary thought really. They're already getting to the point
where they require more skill than Joe Bloggs Average has to ride
    them.
    Indeed.
