Visited parents on boxing day, coming back today.

Went out to my old local - IPA at £1.35 a pint... lovely.

Woke this morning, looked out the window to be greeted by a road sealed
off with crime scene tape, loads of yellow markers in the road, and the
place crawling with green-romper suited forensics officers.

Decided to go out and see if I could get a newspaper. Officer stationed
outside the house in question assured me that it was OK for us to go
places by foot, but using the cage was out of the question 'for a couple
of hours - but they told me that at 7am this morning'. Poor fucker had
been stood there freezing his 'nads off for hours waiting for something
    to happen.

Had a bit of a look around, saw lots of claret and plastic sheeting.
    Eeeek!

6 hours later, managed to persuade another officer that I _really_
needed to get my cage out so I could go home. The SOCO didn't seem to
approve. But **** 'em. I was out.

Still nothing on the local news - initially I thought someone had been
waving a gun around, but the local gossip says a stabbing.

WTF is going on in this country? - seems there were several shootings
last night - at least one in Manc, that one in Leeds and another in Brum
    :-(

I took the wife outside on xmas eve and it was really creepy.
I got the feeling that there was a peaceness in the air.
Turned on the news and there has been nothing but carnage over the last few
    days.

Oh well, MXing tomorrow should make me feel much more at peace.

  3. Christmas is renowned as a time of increased stress - particularly in
families / relationships. Add in increased gun ownership and you have
    more gun deaths.

  4. But there are no guns left. They (our wonderful leaders) took them all
away after that porridge woggian let loose with a couple of
semi-automatic pistols in Dunblane. The only people left with guns are
the ecilop, so all the gun crime MUST be down to them.

After 15 years of being without, I still feel nekkid walking around
without a 9mm on my belt.

    Far, far too deep Des.

It just sort of hits home when you wake up in the middle of a serious
    crime scene.

Hmmm, not a fan of subtlety are we sweller.
He'd already made the joke. Was there really
    any need to signpost it?

Err, my understanding of the joke wasn't the Buell reference but the 9mm
(as in firearm) to 9mm (as in spanner) thingy.

Oooh, Jim Davidson's on the television ...
