Well, that was fun.

This is where we ended up:

Things were a bit medieval, with smoke, fire, mist, drunken Germans, mud,
and the UKRM Away Team. No wonder the Romans feared the Hun.

And then it snowed, but not before Sweller got quietly rat-arsed, and had to
be helped back from the beer hut. Actually, we threw him down the hill, and
dragged him along in the mud when he reached the bottom.

Burnt went off raiding timber and managed to gouge holes in himself. He
didn't notice that this had happened until someone else remarked on the
quantities of blood all over the place.

He continued to bleed like a stuck pig for the rest of the weekend.

When the snow arrived, it became like some sort of Norse inferno, with all
the third-rate heroes getting kicked out of Valhalla, and the least feasible
conveyances seemed to make the best progress - outfits (obviously), bikes
with skis, mopeds dragging beer crates, hand-carried Pan Euros... Yes, it's
true: Hondas are faster and more stable with a team of pushers than when
relying on engine power. And humping the fuckers half a kilometre through
frozen slush and falling Goths certainly made the heart beat a little
    faster.

The VFR was wholly reliable, and only suffered slightly when duffed up by a
    chambermaid in the hotel garage.

And finally, we are separated from the Continent by more than The Channel:
