Well that came as something of a surprise

Persistant misfires etc. I dumped my Daytona after months of it. Bods
admitted it during a visit to the factory. They may be better now.

I was tempted to post much the same thing, as you can image.

I honestly can't see the point in me buying a 150bhp bike.

It's not going to be any more fun to ride than a bike with say 100-120
bhp and it's going to cost me substantially more to insure. It's a
    no-brainer IMO.

And I'm also not afraid to admit that I wouldn't make full use of it
    either, so why bother?

    So untrue
    Not much more IME
You would after a while. It's addictive.

Bikes are fun to ride, full stop.
A new GSXR1000 will cost double what an new SV1000S costs to insure
and nearly three times what a new Bandit 12 costs for me.[1]
Would I? I never really used a GSXR750 to the limits of it's ability.

I'm not buying a bike for the dick-waving of saying I've got the
quickest bike around, I'm buying it for fun.

    [1] Bandit 12 425ukp FC, SV1000S 650ukp FC, GSXR1000 1400ukp FC. All
quotes for new bikes. I can buy a new B12 and insure it FC for the
cost of a good secondhand GSXR1000.

Prolly not, and neither would/do I. But there have certainly been many
occasions when i've had the throttle FWO for extended periods and they
are _really_ fun, believe me :)
Yeah, that's what I said when I got mine. But you know, after 25 years
of biking, it's a really nice feeling to have the current 'best bike
on the block' for the first time :)

Oh I agree, I did it on the 750 a few times.

However, I reckon doing that once to often on this Sceptered Isle will
land me inside for 6 months.
