I had a hankering for an XL185 (?) when I was 17, mainly 'cos I used to do
the insurance for this gorgeous little blond bird who rode one [1]. She had
it on the good old NU Rider policy and crashed it, breaking the steering
lock. Before the NU had a chance to fix it it was nicked [2] and NU
declined to pay out, as the steering lock was not deployed. I went totally
spastic [2] at their claims dept and they ended up paying out.
Unfortunately I never got a shag, didn't even have the balls to ask her out
(thought it unprofessional to hit on clients, what a twat).

[1] Hmm, perhaps you really do meet the nicest people on a Honda
[2] From the carpark of The Angel public house in High Wycombe.[4]
[3] I over reacted in a major way. Had it been a run of the mill hairy
arsed biker my reaction would have been "what do you expect?"
[4] **** me, how come I can remember stuff from years ago but can't remember
what I was doing last week.

Single downtube frame was the only real difference[1], AFAICR,
although I suppose it gave it a different geometry and was perhaps
    slightly lighter too.

[1] Apart from the styling, which was much superior.

Ahh. ITYF that that is effectively an SL. I guess they renamed it as
such when they introduced the red, twin-tubed XL later on.
