So the scousers went on the rampage then?

    Fucking typical.

You'd think they'd be used to the shootings by now.

There probably wasn't much they could do other than to point it out to
    the Belgian police?

I know that it was a long time ago, but I believe it was a long time
*after* Axis forces had been kicked out of Belgium.

Ahh, he must have been talking about football. I take it Liverpool won
something? "Champions League"[1] was on telly last night, so I guess
it was that. Well done and all.

[1] Is this the old EUFA cup or what? There seem to be so many euro
cometitions these days I can't keep up.

Actually, there is one less. In the old days, there was the
European Cup, the UEFA (previously Inter City Fairs Cup)
    & the Cup Winners Cup.

Now there's just the European Champions League & UEFA Cup.
Of course, you used to have to be champions of your domestic
league to get into the Eurpoean Cup, but now up to the top
4 teams go into the CL.

I won't go into the bit about whether Liverpool should or
shouldn't be in the Chanpions League next year.

Heh. I was in London when the FA cup final was on last week, and a
load of SkiClub mates were going down t'pub (after quite a few
lunchtime bevvies) to watch it. We went and browsed the shopping malls
    instead.

Which was a bit of a result actually, as we managed to get our eyes
tested and I found that I've now got perfect distance vision (was
-.25/-.75). Still got some mild(.25/.75) astigmatism, unchanged, but
I've popped the scrathed-to-**** Rx lenses out of my Oakleys and
replaced them with the original pristine ones, of which I've still two
spare sets, and am now seeing loads better.

Nicely cancelled out by the dubious penalty, then.

I'm completely mystified at how a team that has been utter pants all
season, finishing closer (in points) to the bottom than the top of the
league has managed to pull this one off.

Dunno really, why did it go bad in the first place? I suppose if the
eyeball can change shape over the course of time to worsen vision,
there's no reason the reverse should not be equally possible. It;s
true that I very rarely use my normal specs, but the Oakleys are worn
whenever I'm outdoors in daylight, unless it's really grey or actually
    raining.

Of course, at the same time as the above improvements my short-range
vision has deteriorated slightly, which might be related or just down
    to the ageing process.

    Any opticians on here?

Nah, AC Milan are a brilliant team, just not good enough last night.

then again, Maradona has gone on record stating that the 1970 Brazil team
couldn't have done what Liverpool did last night.

    which is nice.

I checked it on the RAC site under its original English reg number just
to see what came up and it was listed as a K1. This intrigued me
because the Northern Ireland registration doc clearly states K2. So
being the clever fucker that I am, I went to Colin Collins armed with
my VIN and asked them to check it with Suzuki. Suzuki-san, being the
even cleverer fucker that he is, he says K1. It missed being a K2 by
    200ish numbers.

It saves me looking for an immaculate set of K2 fairing panels and seat
unit, so I'm not at all bothered. I'm extremely happy with the bike as
    a K1.

    Motherfucker.
More to the point it was sold to me as a K2 from an English dealer. The
then bodywork, 2002 reg and the stainless exhaust collector meant I
never questioned it. Still other than that I don't think there is a
    difference?

Sorry about that all the same, I'll refund the cost of several Black
    Russians next time I'm over.

If the docs come back as saying K2 then I'll leave it at that, but the
    VIN and Suzuki say different.
Different mirrors, but that's of no consequence because it now has
    better CBR600 ones fitted.
Not a good plan, I'm giving up booze altogether. Don't fret about it,
I'm still bloody happy with the bike.
