    13st 6. Christ. I dream of being 13st 6.
It`s not my fault. It`s Tescos. Each aisle being loaded with more
quality items than the last. Every single one of them (in the food
section, obviously) nibbleable to the extreme. If only they would
relapse to how they used to be. If only they would give me a chance. But
they won`t. They just fucking won`t

    *sobs*

Hmm. I wonder if I could sue them?

  3. I have fond memories of being only 13st 6.
Sixteen stone is a memory too.
I did that last xmas and shed a couple of stones; but as usual, it all
    went back on again.

The problem with diets as such, is that you're conscious of 'being on a
diet' whereas simply eating more sensibly might not provide the rapid
weight loss of a 'diet' but is bettter in the long term.

Works for me, but I keep slipping back into lazy eating habits.

I'm starting to feel the strain in my legs now - years of being a bit
overweight have taken their tool on my knees; coupled with arthritis (as
a legacy of various smashes), I can see myself being fucked up big
stylee if I don't do something about it fairly soon.

    WTF is the UKRM 'Mascot'

I don't play by other peoples rules, *I* decide if I happen to like
someone or not, I *don't* make decisions based on other peoples opinions
because everyone is a different individual, and not everyone will get on.

After all, I have apparently been enough of a PITA recently to be k/f by
some on here, despite the fact that they know me.
Sorry Des, but it *is* because of what you write.

And no, that's not because of 'a desire to fit in'. I don't enjoy
reading your posts (remember, *I* am the one reading them and making my
own judgement) so every now and again I pop you back in there.

Salad Dodger wibbled like a little girl...
Well done. I still haven't done any advanced training and I somehow
doubt I will join the IAM if I decide to.

What part of "just pointing out the blatant hypocrisy apparent in this
particular case" can't you understand. I wasn't defending the IAM nor
their training. I was merely pointing out that Donna was advised to get
advanced training, and as soon as she'd done so, she came under fire for
    it.

It doesn't matter where she'd done her training. It's Donna, so
therefore if she can pass then anyone can, seemed to be the impression I
    got.

There would only be hypocrisy, surely, if *I* had advised her to take
IAM training, and then attempted to devalue the achievement.

It wasn't me who claimed they were the biggest bunch of arseholes
around, and then praised Charders for joining them.
Which is *still* a criticism of the test, and not Donna.

How many folk do you know who'd get "no adverse comments" when taking
an IAM observed ride? Two? Three?

Donna's actions are admirable, and hopefully beneficial. She is to be
applauded for her determination, and for her (obvious) ability to
benefit from training. (By God that sounds patronising, it's not
    supposed to)

    However...

If someone who has serious doubts about their ability on a bike can
become an "advanced" motorcyclist on the back of a couple of hours a
week over one summer, then as far as I can see, the certificate is
worth its own weight in batshit, and I can't conceive of anything that
will change my view of that.

Nowhere did I suggest that Donna's riding wouldn't have improved, or
that her confidence, quite rightly, to a point, should have increased.

The one thing I don't want to happen is for her to charge around Lincs
in the "knowledge" that's she's an "advanced" motorcyclist, and stick
    Quack under a bus.
