Well BJay, I was this close

I was so close to coming out to Texas. This past summer the shop I
work for became a dealer for American Ironhorse Motorcycles which are
made in Texas. One of the requirements to be one of their dealers is
that at least one mechanic in the shop must be certified by them.
Since I am the primary street bike mechanic for the shop the boss was
going to send me to a certification class they had last week. Well,
just before the class the Air Force decided that it was time to move
us again as my wife was informed that she would be getting orders for
Alaska (this will our 3rd time up there). So my boss went to Texas for
the certification instead. Just when I thought I would finally have a
chance to meet up with some of you guys on the group. :)

So right now I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off
trying to get things prepped for the short notice move. We are
supposed to leave in 5 weeks but the Air Force is delaying the issuing
of orders till a problem with her medical records is cleared up. My
wife was treated for cancer at the beginning of the year and her
doctor failed to process the paperwork for a med board review to clear
her for return her to full active duty status. So his screw-up might
delay our departure later in to winter. I'm already not happy with
having to drive the Al-Can highway in December as it is.

When ever we do depart I am looking at taking either I-10 or I-20 west
to Kalifornia then going north from there via I-5. So I guess I will
still get my chance to pay a visit to Texas anyhow. :)
