My recommendation is that you also consider the same brand's "Avance" jacket. Heavyweight Cordura outer, Sympatex breathable/waterproof drop liner. The whole jacket is CE marked and approved to the equivalent of "Level 1" of EN 13595, and also features impact protectors meeting EN 1621-1. I came across this product (which has been supplied to Pizza Hut in their corporate design for six or seven years) when recently updating the BMF's "Riderspace" briefing document on PPE and CE marking. Someone also pointed outa product report to me, which can be found at: http://www.despatch.co.uk/magazine/oct02/courier_news2.shtml More and more CE textile garments are being developed in the background; predominantly to meet demand from the UK police service, who need to switch away from leathers but require equal levels of protection from whatever replaces hide. Civilian versions will also be available from many of the manufacturers concerned, as previously revealed in this forum.
thanks, don't personally want anything to 'Flower Arranger' The 'Highway Leather Jacket' has not interested me in a while and the copies of the M1 style jackets are so shit now there not worth the money. Will have a look at what they have here many thanks -- E-Mail Addy obet(ng)qfy(qbg)cvcrk(qbg)pbz <---Rot13 it watch out for spam trap in header Free Phone Unlocking http://unlockme.co.uk 10p a Picture Message/MMS http://www.mmsit.co.uk/ http://www.davessite.co.uk Trike Power the TRUE Trinity
Because ballistic/stab vests and "High Performance"/Level 3 leathers don't interact at all well. Both are relatively thick and heavy items of PPE and cause all sorts of ergonomic and heat stress problems when worn together. The textile garments that have been under development during the past year will be significantly more comfortable to wear, and just as protective in a crash. One such product should be in widespread use at the Notting Hill Carnival on a motorcycle section officer near you! Another is already on trial with six forces and will be launched as a civilian model at the Intermot bike show in Munich this September.
