I have really enjoyed the Bike discussion on the TMRA 2,DFW thread. Bill
started it out that way, from his post about Texas Law stuff.
I have enjoyed this feller, by the name of Ruppster. He and Bill,
Brian, wakko, and a couple others are keeping it Bike related.in my
    opinion.
It did go left,, and then right, and east and west, a few times, but
mainly its about us motorcyclist. (that's Great.)
I like the comparison of metrics to Harleys. being dicussed!
Deep down, I think all Riders, admire those ole Harleys. I look back,
and think, ''wonder why I never bought a HD?’’ I've rode about 6
    Yamas and 6 Honders. &Currently, Riding a 750 03 Shadow.
I have really decorated it, thru Whitney. & I like it when a
regular person, thinks it's a Harley. But if they observe me and my
Honey, they'll see all kinds of Honda emblems, and TShirts with Texar
Honda on em'. I'm definately proud of being a Honda Owner.
Yesterday, we went on a Shadow Bike ride, so to speak. My
daughter on her own 600, Randy on his 750, Carol, on her 600, her
husband riding his 1100, and me and honey on ours. We've got that one
ole SONnLaw that we'll let ride his Harley with us, now and then. We
rode up to Beavers Bend, by Broken Bow, Okla.
I am mainly a weekend rider. always have been. I ride during the
week, around the area, to go eat, to go here and there.
I hate to say it, but I probably qualify as a soCalled Welfare
    Rider.
I really like wearing the leather, dooRags, and always a black
    Tshirt.
Something about wearing black! My honey doooo look good in her black
stuff. I like the outLaw biker look. I have worn the same Levi's, day
in and day out, on a weeks' trip. (smile, they really get loose/stiff,
but/and comfy). I am a cold weather rider.
Yesterday, riding back from Broken Bow, & down to Dekalb,tx,
we rode thru a blast of Hot, furnace type air. Seems as soon as we
crossed the Red, it was like 10 degrees hot'er.It was extremely
enduring. I had rather, ride, with all the leather on, and try to stay
    warm, than the opposite. (bjayOFNeTexas)

It got warm yesterday, yes. Me and the Mouse took a little trip to Newton,
    TX. Started out warm, anyway.

While we were there a storm came through, and even with raingear we got
damp. I could hardly believe I was getting a chill in a Texas August.

But, I'd rather be a little damp and chilled than too dang hot. You can only
take *off* so much clothes before attracting attention.

Mouse called her son and DIL to meet us in Newton. Only the DQ was open, but
    we had a good visit.
It was a nice ride through east Texas. Total miles 670.

‘‘Wakko, I heard that!’’ We were wishing to get slap ass wet
by any kinda rain’’. That's why we didn't even take rain gear, it
    didnt matter, we'd been thankful’’

‘‘When we got to Dekalb, we also stopped @ uh DQ, and ate
lots of cold ice cream, blizzards, and floats, ahhhhhh, but that
    helped’’! (wink) (bjay)

Any way you slice it, Harley is the benchmark of motorcycles.. They are
    distinctive..

Ride what you like.. That's what it is all about..

I like it up there almost as good as Hot Springs..
