  3. If Rossi truly believed it was the rider, and not the bike, he would be
riding either a Proton or a Kawasaki this year.

  4. Are you doing your bit to help them? How many Hondas have you bought this
    year?

Nobody could crack more than but 1 win on the Yamaha in the last few years,
yet he has already won 7, equal with the best ever Rainey/Lawson and with 2
to go could beat that record too.

He could prob. win on the Kawa, thats coming ahead in leap and bounds thanks
to the Bridgestone tyres the Proton thats another question all together,
    difficult but not impossible

He has won heaps on the still current best bike RC211 [and the army of 6
cannot] and won on the bike that was rubbish before he raced it.

Wish he would come over to Ducati.

He is simply the best GP rider we have ever seen, hahaonda threw everything
at him to beat him and failed...

Perhaps they could say sorry, let him test drive a F1 car and pay him $100
    mill. p/a

Please factor in engine reliability and mechanics as well. I don't think
Rossi would've done half as well has he had if he didn't have a familiar,
and proven, team in JB and Doohan's former machanics. That said, even Rainey
mentioned that he's seen Yamaha really stepping up to the plate this year in
terms of wanting to win a GP and not just coming for the show. The new
engine was a fact, but getting Rossi on their side was more than a bit of a
    bonus.
Regardless of how good you are, if your bike can't do the designated amount
of laps you're nothing (eg Hopkins who's had a bad run not because of lack
of tallent, remember the 2 strokes). There was a lot of this in F1 where
people would be leading quite comfortable, only to have their race cut short
    due to engine trouble.
I think Rossi is a very good rider (major understatement) but it's not just
him who's winning races, it's the whole team. He has people who understand
and translate what he wants the machine to do pretty well and the Company's
obviously improved their change management systems.
The day his bike dies and he actually pushes it to the finish with
Gibbernau, Tamada or even Biaggi breathing down his neck is the day I call
    him a god.

Yes, but the _BIKE_ has improved a lot as well. I don't really think he
was there in the engineering room working hard into the night on the CAD
    programs designing new crankshafts.
He is the best there is at the moment. I will give him that. I don't
know about best-ever. There are a lot of riders that are very good who I'm
not so sure he could compete against. (Agostini, for example.)
I think Honda will just keep putting together better and better bikes until
they do eventually beat him. Honda has a HUGE budget. (Even bigger now that
    they aren't paying Rossi.

Perhaps he should go to Kwaka ... how awesome would it be to see Team Green
at the top of the list! Rawk! Ducati would also be good too!
