I've got some of those and have had them for over 3 years. They're nice
    lightweight and waterproof.

The stitching came apart on mine after about 12 months, on the bit where
they attach the Goretex label just behind the wrist (IYSWIM). Took them
back to Heine Gerricke and they said they'd replace them if I went back
with the receipt as stitching was guaranteed for 3 years. Never did find
it, but as it doesn't really impact on weatherproofing, I've lived with
it rather than pursue my rights.

I'd recommend, but keep hold of your receipt for anything you buy from HG.

I find the cuffs on HG gloves are quite slim compared to some of the
alternatives, so they don't fit over winter jackets very well.

IKWYM. I wear them inside sleeves, hence the waterproofing not being an
    issue.

  11. Yebbut, it's Scotland - it's never dry, hence needing lightweight
    waterproof.

still do. Needless to say, they ain't cheap.

Alpinestars ST-1 Drystar gloves have been the best waterproof glove I have
used. Light enough for summer use. Warm enough for cooler months with
    heated grips.

J&S stock them according to Google but their website is kaput.

I have those. In my experience though, they need to be used with the
cuffs under a waterproof jacket in prolonged heavy rain conditions.

yes, most *summer* gloves will need to be worn so. I wear them tucked
inside the sleeve of my leather jacket. If it rains heavily I put my
oversuit on. This overlaps the leather jacket sleeve and the elasticated
cuff forms a fairly waterproof seal.

My leather jacket sleeves are too tight to do that, but the sleeves of
the lightweight Alpinestars waterproof I use in the summer works well
enough over the glove cuffs in most 'normal' rain.

If embarking on a long journey (not often these days it has to be said)
I also carry an old pair of nylon waterproof mittens. Helly Hansen I
think they are (the labels have dropped off but they are blue). Deployed
at the same time as Furygan spats for boots if monsoon conditions are
    encountered.

That happened to mine too, except it was the stitching on one of the
fingers. Not impressed. And I lost the receipt.

    I really like these :

    http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/product.asp?ProductID=1055

They've been my first choice gloves for ages.

They're too thick when it's really hot, of course, but they're the best
compromise between feel and waterproof-ness I've tried.

The BMW ones I've just got hold of seem to be good. Gortex and light.
