Water-dee-pump-da-zippedeeay

  1. The water pump that no-one had and that Honda couldn't get for three
weeks has just landed in my lap. That's two days!

So it cost me 157 quid. Ha! Who cares, as soon as it dries out outside,
I'm off to put it on.

  2. So, you'll not be interested to know that a mini pump costs a tenner and
    is available across the counter?
    Johnstone's wax?

    Of course I'm interested.

Now I've seen the whole "assembly", it's perfectly possible a mini WP
would do the job. I'm not sure if the exact same holes are in the same
place in the castings, but FWICT, it'd hook up ok and just hang there.

Bugger, I need some webspace and a broadband connection...
Nah, ice cream still on the bottom of me boots ;-)

Can your home be described as "compact & bijou"?

  8. What did the parts bloke say? Did he mean the old BMC Mini or the BMW
MINI? Be interesting to see the pics, 'cos I'd be amazed if the old mini
pump on the A-series came anywhere close to being useful.

It wasn't the parts bloke that mentioned it, it was a bloke in a bike
shop I've been going into for years. Having said that though, the bloke
that told me I usually had nothing to do with and all the ones I trusted
    have fucked off.

There are photos in the "BoTM Ride Out Summary" thread. Only two, mind,
and hopefully there'll be one of it on the bike, too.

  11. Oddly, I can see what he meant - it looks intriguingly close to an
old-style Mini pump, and if I was out the Outback I'd make one fit.
    How's it driven?

    Bad form again:)

There's a slotted female shaft that protrudes about 1/2 inch from the
top bit you can see with the O-Ring on it. It's this bit that goes face
    in.

I believe this one to be some form of Welsh ****, Brother Courier.
Whether he is a Greater or Lesser is yet to become apparent. Now, I
suggest you sink back down into a comfortable tussock and await
    developments.

  16. Aha. Too much to be fannying about with for an uncertain (probably duff)
result. But, as I said, if only a mini WP was available in the bush
there'd be a way to make it work.

If I was you would be considerably more out of pocket than a quid.

Perception is 90% of the result after deduction
